Module 5: Get first inquiries

Start finding your first rental customers

Build one clear path from a useful website or local introduction to a customer question, a helpful reply, and a real rental decision.

Outcome

Choose a simple way for customers to find and contact you, connect it to the correct Rivet contact page, and complete a practical first-30-days plan.

Publish enough information to help customers contact you

A useful page explains what is offered, the service area, the basic price structure when approved, what the customer should expect next, and important limits. It does not promise live inventory, instant approval, guaranteed delivery, or a response time the operator cannot support.

Use plain language and one main contact button. Legal documents, eligibility details, or property requirements can be linked or handled in the next step without turning the first page into an unreadable wall.

  1. 1Write a short description of the rental offer and the customer problem it addresses.
  2. 2Add the approved service area, pricing language, major requirements, and next-step expectation.
  3. 3Remove claims that depend on unverified availability or guaranteed outcomes.
  4. 4Name the person who replies to new questions and the hours they are reviewed.

Use your business’s Rivet contact link

Copy your business’s contact link from Rivet. The QR code is another way to open that link; it does not check whether you can help a customer, reserve equipment, collect money, or promise a response by itself.

The optional Contact Link and QR Setup service pays for hands-on website and asset work. Existing eligible self-service links, QR display, and PNG download do not require that purchase.

  1. 1Open the copied link in a signed-out browser context and confirm the intended tenant branding.
  2. 2Scan the displayed or downloaded QR with a second device and compare the destination.
  3. 3Make sure extra information added to the link cannot send a customer to a different company.
  4. 4Keep that contact link with your marketing notes so printed and digital uses can be checked later.

Check where customer questions arrive

Use one clearly labeled practice inquiry with invented contact details. Confirm it reaches the correct business, the person who replies can find it, and the example can be closed or removed under the existing test-data rules.

A successful form submission is not a successful rental. Track each stage separately: question received, customer fit checked, rental work completed, and real operating result.

  1. 1Choose the test name and email pattern before submitting.
  2. 2Submit through the public contact page and record the time and URL.
  3. 3Verify the request appears only in the intended company and the person who replies can open it.
  4. 4Mark or clean up the test record and leave it out of customer-acquisition reporting.

Choose the next guide that matches your gap

If people cannot understand the offer, start with the website guide. If the website is useful but hard to discover, use the Google guide. If you need direct local conversations, use the outreach guide. If inquiries arrive but stall, use the response guide.

Do not try every channel at once. Pick one approach, keep the message and reply process stable long enough to learn, and count questions received, customers you can serve, and paying rentals separately.

  1. 1Open the focused guide that matches the biggest missing part of how customers find and contact you.
  2. 2Complete its first action before adding another channel.
  3. 3Record how each customer found you when they tell you.
  4. 4Review which inquiries became real rentals before spending more time or money.

Completion check

Choose how customers will find and contact you in the first 30 days

  • The page states the service area, basic rental offer, important limits, and how to contact you.
  • Your business’s contact link and QR code open the same correct page.
  • A clearly labeled practice inquiry appears in the correct company workspace.
  • A named person is responsible for replying, and the published response time is accurate.
  • You chose the next focused guide and wrote the first action you will complete this week.

Use this in Rivet

Use your business’s inquiry link to manage new requests.

Rivet gives your business a public inquiry link, sharing and QR tools, and an organized place to review and respond to new requests. It does not provide or guarantee customers.

  • Confirm the public offer and who will respond.
  • Check that your business’s inquiry link and QR code open the right page.
  • Submit one clearly labeled test inquiry, then leave it out of customer-acquisition results.

The lesson and tool remain free without an account. New workspaces are free for up to three active rentals with no payment method required. Optional services have separate published scopes and limits.
