Rivet FAQ

Clear answers before you put your rental operation in Rivet.

Understand product fit, tenant control, payments, accounting, migration, and pricing before you start.

Section 01

Product and fit

1

What kind of rental business is Rivet for?

Rivet is designed for businesses that rent physical inventory and need to connect customers, agreements, payments, delivery or fulfillment, service, returns, and closeout. Washer and dryer and appliance rentals are the first proven operating categories.

2

Is Rivet only a CRM?

No. Lead and customer records are part of Rivet, but the product also connects rental records, physical inventory, documents, invoices, payments, scheduling, service, returns, and tenant configuration.

3

Can every rental company configure its own workflow?

Yes. Products, pricing, requirements, documents, locations, inventory lifecycle settings, payment connections, branding, and supported automation are scoped to each tenant.

Section 02

Payments and accounting

1

Does every Rivet tenant need its own Stripe account?

A tenant that wants to collect supported live card payments connects its own eligible Stripe account through Rivet. Tenants do not share another company’s payout account.

2

Does Rivet store card numbers?

No. Supported card entry happens in Stripe-hosted checkout. Rivet retains the references and statuses needed to operate the rental and invoice workflow.

3

Is LedgerLine required?

No. LedgerLine is optional. Eligible workspaces can use Rivet-managed LedgerLine provisioning for supported payment and refund accounting records.

4

Can payments be refunded?

Authorized users can initiate supported refunds and keep the outcome connected to the original tenant, payment, invoice, and rental context.

Section 03

Setup, migration, and pricing

1

Can an existing rental company import its data?

Rivet supports a reviewed migration process for structured business data. The source must be mapped and validated before live application so tenant-specific rules and incomplete records are handled deliberately.

2

Can I start without a card?

Yes. The current free tier supports up to three active rental records without entering a payment method.

3

What changes the monthly price?

Rivet pricing is based on the number of active rental records. Inventory that is not assigned to an active rental does not increase the rental count.

4

Can I ask for setup help before creating an account?

Yes. Use the Get Started form to describe your rental operation and the workflow you want to improve. Sending the form does not create an account or activate billing.
